Every morning, we add physical servers to our servers cluster to handle the traffic. All virtual machines are encrypted with VMware’s integrated solution. However, sometimes the added servers do not support encryption due to a malfunction. Our hosting provider OVHCloud should deliver servers with this option. There is an option to force encryption. When this option was enabled, it appeared that the network management machine (master) malfunctioned. The other machine (slave) did not take over. Moving these machines to other physical servers did not resolve the issue. We had to provision a new physical server and decommission the faulty server. Once the new server was added to the pool, the service was restored. We are still waiting for a more detailed response from our hosting provider and full support for server at-rest encryption.
